The bus residency was featured on You & Yours (Radio 4) on 9 September. Journalist Geoff Bird took the bus with me in the sunshine from Harewood to PSL, and we met some passengers. Listen again on bbc.co.uk/radio4
Photographer/filmmaker and independent researcher. Much of my work has involved river landscapes, including the 3-screen projection A Guide to Yorkshire Rivers, originally made for Cartwright Hall Art Gallery. Recent exhibitions include Walking Out at Huddersfield Art Gallery 2009 (an exploration of the figure in the landscape), Transported at PSL [Project Space Leeds] 2009 where I was artist in residence on the 36 bus, and 21 (group show) at Harewood House 2010.
In 2006 I received a NESTA Fellowship to pursue interests in early photography and visual culture, and this has led to a number of presentations about pioneering artistic figures and processes. Live appearances include Lavater – The Shadow of History (part of the ACE touring exhibition Alchemy), A Theory of Colours (about Goethe) and Isolating V5 (a history of the Zoetrope). In 2010 I also led silhouette portrait events at two V&A Friday Lates.
